SITM: Reliving Michigan-Michigan State rivalry with former Spartans Tony Banks, Amp Campbell and Ashton Henderson

The @a2iwheels/www.a2iwheelandtire.com guestline presents Tony Banks, Amp Campbell and Ashton Henderson during this episode of Sports in the Mitten with Adam Biggers and John Gustin.

In celebration of one of the greatest weeks on the calendar, SITM brings you three former Spartans who contributed during different phases of MSU football.

In 1995, Banks was the team’s star quarterback and helped lead it to a 28-25 win over Michigan. He went on to play 10 years in the NFL, winning Super Bowl XXXV as a member of the Baltimore Ravens. He was also the first QB selected in the 1996 NFL draft.

Campbell made a lot of plays–one of the best in program history, actually–during his six-year stay in East Lansing. Now the DB coach at Kent State, the former Michigan State star joins SITM to discuss his memories, expectations for this year’s game and more. He gives us a prediction, talks about the secondary and details what makes MSU tick.

Henderson made a living by making big plays on special teams during the early stages of the Mark Dantonio era. He played from 2006 to 2009, and although he’s not a Michigan native, he says he quickly learned the importance of MSU vs. UM–and he wouldn’t trade his time in those games for anything.
